Assessments

A key component of becoming a better leader is having the right data to make an informed decision. Intelligent leaders leverage all possible tools in order to learn and grow. Throughout my career, I have utilized personality assessments to bring awareness and facilitate reflection.

Assessments can be leveraged by:

  • Individuals

  • Pairs

  • Teams

  • Organizations

I primarily utilize the DISC, Myers-Briggs, EQ, and 12 Driving Forces assessments in my practice.

DISC Assessment

The DISC assessment is a behavioral tool that helps individuals and teams understand their communication styles, motivations, and work preferences. It identifies four primary behavior types, Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness, offering insights into how people approach problems, interact with others, and manage tasks. For teams, DISC fosters better collaboration, reduces conflict, and enhances productivity by helping members appreciate diverse strengths and adapt their communication for greater effectiveness and harmony.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality assessment that helps individuals and teams understand how they perceive the world and make decisions. Based on Carl Jung’s psychological theories, it identifies 16 personality types using four dimensions: Extraversion–Introversion, Sensing–Intuition, Thinking–Feeling, and Judging–Perceiving. For teams, MBTI fosters greater self-awareness, empathy, and communication by highlighting differences in work styles and decision-making approaches, ultimately improving collaboration, trust, and overall team performance.

EQ (Emotional Intelligence)

The Emotional Intelligence (EQ) assessment measures a person’s ability to recognize, understand, and manage emotions, both their own and those of others. It focuses on key areas such as self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. For individuals and teams, EQ enhances communication, resilience, and collaboration by improving how people handle stress, navigate conflict, and build strong, trusting relationships making it a powerful foundation for effective leadership and high-performing teams.

The 12 Driving Forces

The 12 Driving Forces assessment explores what motivates individuals, the “why” behind their actions and decisions. It identifies twelve key motivators grouped into six primary dimensions, such as intellectual, utilitarian, aesthetic, social, individualistic, and traditional. By uncovering what truly drives each person, this tool helps individuals align their work with their core values and purpose. For teams, understanding these driving forces enhances engagement, collaboration, and satisfaction by ensuring that roles, rewards, and goals connect meaningfully to each member’s intrinsic motivations.
